    PEAKTALK touches in down in Barcelona as we tap in with designer, creator and all-round fashion aficionado - Diego Velasco. A long-time admirer of fitted caps, Diego made his first New Era purchase at just 10 years old.

His affinity for colour was as evident in his first purchase as it is in his current style choices today, opting to use the 59FIFTY as a statement piece for his outfits.

Diego’s connection to the brand stems from his love of mid-century sports style – when the fitted cap began to gain popularity beyond the baseball field. This was a time where the lines between athletic purpose and classic sartorial attire were much closer. Sportsmen retained a gentlemanly aesthetic which Diego has adopted into his own style.

It was on a trip to New York that Diego’s connection to the culture behind fitted caps began to flourish even further. Hunting the streets of NY for 59FIFTYs he came to realise there was an extensive community of individuals who shared in his passion for fitteds, a community he would eventually become a part of. 

Diego sights timelessness as the reason he keeps coming back, New Era is a brand he has come to trust to deliver on quality and style, whilst always surprising him with what we’ll do next.
