NEW ERA LAUNCHES TAKASHI MURAKAMI COLLABORATION
New Era x Takashi Murakami We have collaborated with acclaimed Japanese contemporary artist Takashi Murakami to bring you a playful take on his signature anime designs.
Known for his use of bright colour and joyful patterns that carry deep meaning, Murakami’s work pushes the boundaries of fine and popular art, cultural criticism and taste-making fashion design.
His Superflat art movement—which brings together Japan’s art history, manga and anime imagery and a curiosity of the otaku subculture—has inspired artists globally.
Leading the pack is our iconic 59FIFTY Fitted available in three brightly coloured designs. Murakami’s signature anime flowers flood the entire crown and brim of one of the three 59FIFTY styles available, while another design combines embroidered flowers with our logo mark. To round off the 59FIFTY offering, we offer a black cap with flowers artfully placed around the crown.
The iconic Murakami flower and Mr. DOB characters come to life on the 59FIFTY, 9FIFTY, 9FORTY, Casual Classic and the A-Frame Trucker, as well as two t-shirt designs.
The same designs are also replicated across all of our adjustable silhouettes, including the A-Frame Trucker, 9FORTY, 9FIFTY Snapback and super relaxed Casual Classic fit.
