What is MLB?

MLB, or Major League Baseball, is a professional sports league founded in 1876, Cincinnati, Ohio. MLB consists of 30 member clubs in the US and Canada, with the first professional team being the Cincinnati Red Stockings founded in 1869. 

How do the MLB Playoffs work?

It usually takes place in late October or early November, and lasts about a month. There are 10 teams, 5 from each league. The playoffs have different rounds where teams compete in series.

In a "best-of-five" series, teams play up to five games, and the first team to win three games advances to the next round. 

In a "best-of-seven" series, teams play up to seven games, and the first team to win four games moves on to the next round. 

The World Series, which is the final matchup, happens between the winners of each league.
